Mosser Glass has been family-owned and operated for generations, proudly crafting timeless, American-made glassware with a signature blend of beauty, quality, and fine craftsmanship. Each piece reflects a legacy of tradition and artistry that continues to shine in kitchens and collections around the world.
Mosser Glass has its roots in the 1950s, when Tom Mosser, inspired by his father Orie’s work at the Cambridge Glass Company, set out to build a glassmaking business of his own. After years of collecting moulds and equipment, he began producing glassware in 1959—starting in an old chicken coop.
By 1971, Mosser Glass was officially established, combining original designs with classic moulds from Viking, L.G. Wright, and Cambridge Glass. What began as a small operation grew into a respected American company known for its quality craftsmanship and timeless beauty.
Still family-owned and operated, Mosser Glass continues to blend tradition and innovation, with Tom’s children now helping lead the way. Every piece is made with care in Ohio, reflecting generations of dedication to excellence.
The expert quality and beautiful designs of our Mosser glassware were even used by Katy Perry in her music video ‘Birthday’.
The Jeffersonian featured Mosser Glass in an article when the world-famous singer Cher bought hundreds of covered glass turkeys for her Thanksgiving dinner party.
Mosser Glass was featured on the SciFi Channel’s How It’s Made®, highlighting the craftsmanship and design excellence that make it a standout American-made product.

Caring for Your Mosser Glass: Mechanical and Thermal Shock
Mosser Glass is beautifully crafted but, like all glassware, it is vulnerable to damage if not handled properly. Mechanical shock can occur when your glassware strikes another object or piece of glass, leading to tiny abrasions that weaken it over time. To avoid this, always handle items gently—especially delicate pieces like cake dome covers—and avoid glass-to-glass contact during washing or storage. Never stack glassware, and avoid picking up multiple items at once. Thermal shock happens when glass is exposed to sudden temperature changes, such as pouring hot liquids into a cold vessel. Allow glassware to come to room temperature before adding hot or cold contents, and avoid rinsing hot glass under cold water.
Safe Use of Mosser Glass for Baking
When using Mosser Glass for baking, be mindful of three primary risks: sudden temperature changes, physical impact, and mishandling. Never transfer glass directly from the freezer to the oven, and avoid placing it on stovetops, grills, or under broilers. Let hot glass cool slowly on a dry towel or wooden board, and don’t add liquid to hot containers. Use only non-metal utensils and avoid harsh scrubbers or detergents that could scratch the surface. Most items are dishwasher-safe, but check each piece first. For stuck-on food, soak in warm water before cleaning to prevent damage.
Handling and Storage Tips
Proper handling and storage are essential to keeping your Mosser Glass in excellent condition. Always support the base of larger pieces and avoid lifting by the rim. Store glassware side by side with space between items to prevent accidental bumps or scratches. Never use or attempt to repair damaged or cracked glass, as this can lead to injury. With proper care, your Mosser Glass will retain its beauty and craftsmanship for years to come.
