A new ERA has arrived!
The AGA Cooker was first introduced to the world in 1922 by its inventor, Gustaf Dalén. While recovering at home from a serious accident, he realized that his wife was constantly exhausted from cooking. This inspired him to adopt the principle of storing heat in cast iron, creating a complete cooking system that not only worked efficiently but also made food taste better!
With the AGA, the cast iron absorbs heat from its heating source. Then it radiates beautiful, even heat that cooks like no other appliance in the world! With multiple temperature settings for ovens and cooking surfaces, it's a dream to work with and very user-friendly. A new era of cooking has arrived!
In the early days, AGAs have used coal, oil, and then gas as heating sources. Many are still in use today. Our AGA cooker is 36 years old and is used daily by my wife and I. We have AGA owners all over Canada, some who are new to AGA and others who have moved and owned multiple AGAs. They say, and I can understand why, that they can't imagine being without their AGA.
Now, I am biased about AGA, with my children learning to cook and growing up with one, and having our AGA for over 36 years, but my wife has always said she would rather divorce me than not have the AGA!
Our newest AGA is the "ERA"
This mix of the old school with new technology makes the AGA ERA a range for every home. The ERA has built-in conventional cooking capabilities alongside radiant heat castiron heat-storage ovens and an induction cooktop beside a castiron hotplate to create a cooker that makes anyone cook like a five-star chef.
Here is why we believe the AGA ERA is the best cooking range in the world. Don't just take my word for it.
Alongside a fan oven, the AGA ERA has two castiron heat storage ovens that cook using stored radiant heat. This offers an easy intuitive, kind-to-food way of cooking. Its warm, gentle, and penetrating heat is due to the thermal properties of cast iron. It just cooks better!
Food cooked this way tastes souped-up (yes, I know.. I couldn't help myself) because it isn't exposed to any fluctuations in heat. The cast iron gently radiates constant, even heat efficiently and effortlessly.
It is the best way to roast, bake, grill, steam, fry and slow-cook, and get the most succulent, nutritious dishes.
Each cooker AGA ERA has a 4-zone induction cooktop,
with bridging features on both left and right sides, a power boost function, pan and boil-dry detection, a child lock and a pause button, all via an integrated touch control panel.
Induction cooking is the safest, fastest, most controllable, and most energy-efficient way to cook. Most Profestional chefs are now using induction. But be aware not all induction cooktops are the same.
AGA uses the best, most efficient induction system.
To the left of the induction top, the AGA ERA hotplate is as close as it gets to a chef's solid top, and you can cook directly on it or use pans, depending on the dish being made.
It can be set to boiling or simmering mode and is large enough to accommodate three pans.
From cold the hotpalte heats up in 10-12 minutes.
The AGA ERA ovens are controlled at the touch of a button, with
intuitive features that allow you to maximize the range's versatility.
A 2.1 kW grill is located at the top of the roasting/baking oven.
There are four grilling positions: higher for fast
cooking and lower for slower cooking.
The ERA has three ovens, all dedicated to the art of cooking.
Two castiron heat-storage ovens and a fan oven, ( that's three ovens in total ) make The AGA ERA capable enough for any kitchen, however busy.
The fan oven is designed for quick, everyday meals with nine
temperature settings and a heat-up time of 15 minutes. The
fan oven door features a window and the oven is internally lit to
view your cooking.
The castiron heat-storage simmering oven is perfect for slow
cooking.
This is one of the most used ovens all AGA owners love because of its slow-cook properties.
It is like a crock pot, even better, allowing flavours to develop and making even the toughest meats tender. Both castiron heat-storage ovens have
an internal Altrashell™ coating and removable door liners for
easy cleaning.
The castiron heat-storage roasting/baking oven can be pre-set
to the exact temperature you need – from very hot (R9) to cool
(B1) – and it has a grill located at the top of the oven.
The AGA ERA is an ergonomically designed heat-storage range created to offer an all-in-one solution. It takes a sensory approach to cooking, with every feature being controlled by a touchscreen. There are details so cleverly designed they go unnoticed, but it is these touches that ensure you get the very best from the ingredients you choose to cook. The AGA ERA is a range for today, with conventional cooking capabilities built-in alongside radiant heat castiron heat-storage ovens and an induction cooktop beside a castiron hotplate.
Each element of The AGA ERA has been carefully considered to create an appliance with premium design values, for any kitchen and cook.
